Sharing Scripture

The three guideposts of The Redeemed Sisterhood are based on Sharing Scripture, Praying Alongside You, and Equipping You for Battle. Today we want to dive into the first of those – sharing scripture.

The power of worship and unity would annihilate the corruption of evil and division. There is power in unity, and God bestows His blessing on those that unite.
Psalm 133 says:
v1 How good and pleasant it is when God's people live together in unity!
v2 It is like precious oil poured on the head, running down on the beard of Aaron, down the collar of his robe.
v3 It is as if the dew of Hermon were falling on Mount Zion.
For there the LORD bestows his blessing, even life forevermore.

Psalm 133 is a praise of unity. It is very short yet, it is a spiritual jewel. The psalmist gives us four main points:
1. 𝘐𝘡 π˜ͺ𝘴 𝘨𝘰𝘰π˜₯ 𝘒𝘯π˜₯ 𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘒𝘴𝘒𝘯𝘡 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘸𝘦 π˜₯𝘸𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘡𝘰𝘨𝘦𝘡𝘩𝘦𝘳 π˜ͺ𝘯 𝘢𝘯π˜ͺ𝘡𝘺.
Unity among souls is a sight to behold, however unity does not require that we all agree on everything. On foundational matters there is an importance on agreement; such as there are only two genders (Gen 1:27), but on progressive matters there is a freedom for different viewpoints; such as which smartphone to purchase.

2. 𝘐𝘡 π˜ͺ𝘴 𝘧𝘳𝘒𝘨𝘳𝘒𝘯𝘡. 🌸
Aaron the priest was anointed with oil in Exodus 30. It was poured on his head and ran down to the edge of his robe. It was such a pleasant scent enjoyed by all in his vicinity. The holy oil is a physical picture of the Holy Spirit descending as a sweet smelling savor on God's people when they live happily together.

3. 𝘐𝘡 π˜ͺ𝘴 𝘳𝘦𝘧𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘩π˜ͺ𝘯𝘨. πŸ’¦
The dew on Mt. Hermon is a source of cool, invigorating moisture. The dew is another example of the Holy Spirit carrying refreshment to the believers who walk in fellowship with God.

4. 𝘐𝘡 π˜ͺ𝘴 𝘒 𝘴𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘨𝘢𝘒𝘳𝘒𝘯𝘡𝘦𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘎𝘰π˜₯'𝘴 𝘣𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴π˜ͺ𝘯𝘨. ✝️
The Lord commands a blessing where God's people are living in unity. And, where there is unity among His people they enjoy life in its truest sense. They become the channels through which God uses to have light flow out to others. ✨

Take time to savor His word, dwell in it and draw closer to Him.
