Scripture
Go into the world and preach the gospel to all creation.
Mark 16:15
Spending time in scripture and fellowship with others discussing scripture are two key ways to deepen your relationship with God. Here are a few examples of how:
• When we spend time in scripture, it follows Jesus’ example. In Acts 2:42 it says, “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to the prayer.”
• When we spend time in scripture, it gives us wisdom. The Bible is essentially the #1 Guidebook for life. As we open the cover, turn the page and savor the word – we find answers. We discover reminders and wisdom to life circumstances. In 2 Peter 1:3 it says, “His divine power has given us everything required for life and godliness through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.”
• When we spend time in scripture, it provides connection and encouragement. Sharing time with others in the Word gives us deep and life-giving connections – that have Jesus at the foundation. In Romans 1:12 it says, “that is, to be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine.” Matthew 18:19-20 says, “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”
